Thanks so much for stopping by!

You probably won’t hear from me until around CHA time, but until then, TAKE CARE and wish me luck on delivering this baby!

Thanks for the…spice rack?

So, you participated in The Dirty Santa Game at the office, eh? And, you ended up with a spice rack…perfect, just what you needed, right? LOL!

Or, maybe you’re like me and thought it was a good purchase when you made it. Now, years later it still has stale basil and it’s collecting dust…AND counter space!

NO, DON’T THROW IT AWAY!

After some soaking and washing in warm water and soap, it can easily be turned into a button/brad organizer! It was a little tedious dividing my buttons into color groups, but I love that I can find the button I want to in no time at all! Sure beats my one-can method ;) I bet you could find one easily at your local thrift store!

Merry Christmas to all!

Teacher’s Gifts: Crayola Crayon Monogram

Hello!

I have a very inspired teacher’s gift to share with you today! This measures 7″ x 9 1/2″.

It all started with this pin on pinterest:

Which brought me to Lisa’s Blog, “Well, how nice!”

Which led me to make this in Photoshop Elements using Arial and Learning Curve Pro Dashed fonts….

I made 3 in under 3 hours! I made a “C”, “B”, and an “M”. The “B” was the most difficult…

Altogether, I used 1 box of 64 crayons :) And, I bought 3 boxes….

Here’s how I wrapped these babies up! First, I put them in old Studio Calico boxes (love the size on those).

I used last year’s Christmas Wrap, some bright red yarn, Hero Arts Stamps (Holiday Tree, Happy Holidays, Envelope Pattern), some manila tags, a bell, a silver pipe cleaner, and a candy cane!

EASY PEASY :)

Hope this inspired you as much as Lisa’s project inspired me!

have a very TACKY Christmas

Hello! I am so excited to share my card with you featuring Lawn Fawn & Glue Arts!

I used the High-Tac Adhesive from Glue Arts because it’s perfect for adhering small detail cuts. Simply flip over your cut image onto scratch paper and run the adhesive across it. Then, lift it up with tweezers or scissors and VOILA, every bit is covered with micro-dot adhesive! I also used the U Cut It 3D Adhesive Foam Blanks to adhere the polaroid:

Let’s face it, when I first saw Basic Grey’s Nordic Holiday line, I thought “tacky Christmas sweater”…lol! I bet you did too! It’s a HUGE trend right now, so my snowmen are sporting their specially-made sweaters made up of Nordic Holiday die-cut flowers. Some are fabric, some are paper. Then I just put a tacky Recollections or Jolee’s embellishment in the middle of each sweater.

Because Lawn Fawn doesn’t have a tacky sweater stamp, I built my own by simply using the body of the snowman and various stamps from Bake Me A Cake! I also used Making Frosty Friends, Hats Off To You, Pa-Rum, Smitty’s ABCs, Love ‘n Breakfast, and Say Cheese.

In fact, I create the wider polaroid with some masking!

This was just TOO much fun to make!

Thank you to Glue Arts for providing these adhesives for the Design Team :)

Thanks for dropping by,

Lawn Fawn Release Week Day 1: Love ‘n Breakfast

Hello Everyone!!!

This week is exciting for us designers here at Lawn Fawn because we get to play with a set that hasn’t been released yet! Meet Love ‘n Breakfast!

I used Karen Burniston’s for Sizzix Bigz XL Pull Tag, Scallop 3-D Pop-Up die to create some fun dimension inside of my card. I love how the two little pieces of toast “pop-up” to say hi and so does the pull frame!

I hope you’ll check out the BIG giveaway at the Lawn Fawn Blog and the rest of the Design Team:

Here are some details about my project:

I used Amy Tangerine’s Papers for American Crafts: Wanderlust, The Good Life, & Stars, Stripes and Stitches. Also, rather than the recipient pulling the tab to expose the picture, they would push the movable portion!
For the card base, I used Amy Tangerine’s for American Crafts Come Together (stitched paper) with Lawn Fawn’s Quinn’s ABCs.
I colored the images with copic markers (C00, C1, C3, C5, E00, E19, E33, spica blue). I added a bit of paper piercing leading from the toaster to the pieces of toast.
Hope you like it!

Lawn Fawn + May Arts: Reusable {Framed} Advent Calendar

Good Morning fellow crafters and DIYers!

Today, I have a super fun project for you, a Reusable {Framed} Advent Calendar featuring May Arts Ribbons and Lawn Fawn Stamps :) I picked up my frame from the clearance aisle at Michaels!

First, I prepared the sentiment or title panel using Creative Imaginations Birch Wood Veneer. I recommend using the thick stuff for a more substantial hold.

-I used Quinn’s ABCs to stamp, color, and stickle the word “twenty”.

-The words “five” and “joy” are cut from ohmycrafts vinyl using my digital cutter and “five” is stamped with Teeny Tiny Backdrops and Palette White Ink.

-”Days” is Sassafras Lass woodgrain alphabet stickers and “of” is made up of American Crafts Thickers colored dark grey.

-I used stamped & felt accents using Bows & Holly and Ornate Ornaments.

-The entire panel is mat with red cardstock and adhered with Ohmycrafts Acid Red Line Tape along the inside edge of the frame.

Next, I worked on the 25 rows of kisses using the following May Arts ribbons:

-This beautiful rope unravels easily, so I recommend prepping each ribbon by burning or adding a bit of fabric glue to each end before working with it.

-Each strand is stapled at the top along the back of the frame using a Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

-Each Hershey’s Kiss is stapled in the same fashion to the other end of the rope ribbon.

-Then, I cut 25 round mini tags using my digital cutter and stamped them with the little snowflake from Ornate Ornaments and numbers from Harold’s ABCs.

-Each tag is topped with a mini bow tied with the May Arts 1/8″ white silk ribbon.

My kids LOVE this reusable {framed} advent calendar and I love that it matches the decor in my house and that I can use it again next year with different candies! Please check out both the Lawn Fawn Blog and the May Arts Blog for other project ideas and awesome giveaway opportunities :)

Thanks for stopping by!

***A special thanks to Irma for the drive-by drop-off of those MUCH needed mini glue dots! HUGS***

Thanksgiving Tablescape

Happy {Belated} Thanksgiving!

After cooking and cleaning for several days straight, I AM BEAT! I bet you are too! Our Thanksgiving was a success with a couple blunders here and there, but who’s counting ;) It was the first time we deep fried a turkey and our meat thermometer wasn’t calibrated correctly. It must have been all those hot 120 degree summers we left the thermometer on the patio…heehee. But, all in all the food ROCKED and the guests had a great time (or at least I think they did)!

Here are some pictures of my tablescape! I HAD to include some crafty goodness, so I made stamped and letterpressed menus, wine charms, and placecards!

This Thanksgiving, I really tried to decorate with things I already on hand, but added some mini pumpkins that I found on clearance at Safeway, a couple acorn squashes from our veggie box this past week, and some wheat (also on clearance at Safeway)! I think all the extra details helped make the guests feel special and welcomed.

We ate.

Some of us drank.

We laughed.

It was an awesome time! I also made a kids table and forgot to take pictures….lol. I was able to snap these pictures before our guests arrived. I also intended to take pictures of Chris deep-frying our turkey, the guests, and “the spread”, but was too caught up in the moment. Don’t you love it when that happens! Sometimes it’s just nice to get out from behind that lens and BE :)

So, how many of you braved the sales today!!!? Any good finds?

Thanks for dropping by,

Materials: Lawn Fawn Stamps (Sally’s ABCs), Lifestyle Crafts Letterpress Kit (Thicket), Paperzone Letterpress Paper, Orange Letterpress Ink, Memento Ink, Divine Twine (Grey), May Arts Ribbon, Crop-a-dial
