So, you participated in The Dirty Santa Game at the office, eh? And, you ended up with a spice rack…perfect, just what you needed, right? LOL!
Or, maybe you’re like me and thought it was a good purchase when you made it. Now, years later it still has stale basil and it’s collecting dust…AND counter space!
NO, DON’T THROW IT AWAY!
After some soaking and washing in warm water and soap, it can easily be turned into a button/brad organizer! It was a little tedious dividing my buttons into color groups, but I love that I can find the button I want to in no time at all! Sure beats my one-can method 
I bet you could find one easily at your local thrift store!

That is an awesome idea!!! I might have an old spice rack hanging around somewhere. Would be good for putting brads in also. Yup, I’m going to have to look for that! LOL

I did the very same thing. I had emptied out the spices a few months back, cleaned it all up and put it in my craft room because I figured I’d find some use for it in there. Then I bought a bunch of buttons and thought that would be the perfect way to store them. I’d didn’t think of my brads. I have some empty bottles left in there so I’ll have to add my brads. Great idea. Merry Chriatmas.

However, you should have had the boys separate the buttons into colors for you!

The spice rack looks great! This is right up my thrifty loving alley. Unfortunately I have a dozen 1 quart jars of buttons so that’s not going to work. But great idea for brads and miscellaneous embellies. That way they wouldn’t be out of site, out of mind.
