TGIF Everyone!!!!

I am on my way to Tampa, FL as we speak! I wanted to share this quick card I made the other day. Torendi is a big fan of classic storybook characters. One of the retailers we purchase from, Decole, has a whole line dedicated to Red Riding Hood. I made this card by cutting the little house image from a Decole postcard!

Cardmaking Made Easy

Starting next month, I’ll be teaching a cardmaking class at my LSS, Papermoon Scrapbooking! So, if you happen to be in the area, drop in to the store and reserve your spot!

I couldn’t believe it when the ladies at the store, Autumn and Bea, asked me to teach! I’m looking forward to meeting local crafty peeps and sharing my passion with them

Class Description:

Learn to make 4 different cards using the fun new papers from Basic Grey with the ease of incorporating Prima Marketing’s Clear Stamps. You will learn many techniques and tips including, paper piecing and coloring. I have a special technique that I’m dying to share! So, if you’re new to card making or someone that already takes up this fun hobby, you will learn something new!

Spice Things Up

Here’s a puny Valentine’s Day card I made! I’m a wannabe foodie so this card appeals to me. I used some American Crafts Abode elements, the Lawn Fawn Stamps alphabet set, and a little puffy heart! Who doesn’t LOVE a puffy heart?

This is page 2 of my layout! I drew inspiration from the Medical Elements of the Jillibean Soup papers. I made a scalloped border with the mini eye charts, a cool dot pattern with envelope ties (like the ones found on old medical files), and a staple border.

Good Morning Peeps!

My card is a recent PC reject. It was my favorite card I submitted. I drew inspiration from an Old Navy sweater of mine. The felt is from My Favorite Things.

How was your weekend? Mine was fun! I had family over to celebrate Liam’s Birthday (which is actually today)! After ruining his birthday cupcakes, we went to Applebees and the staff sang to him and brought each child their own ice cream sundae!

This weekend, my family bought the boys bikes. Liam was given this classic tricycle. He’ll probably outgrow it in a year, but it was love at first sight for him. He rides it everywhere, even around the house. He even hooks his bike up with his brother’s by using bungie cords. His most recent modification includes a little handheld radio that he stores in the compartment in the back with the rest of his “treasures”.

It was, indeed, a great weekend!

I laughed and laughed. What, are we in middle school? LOL! But, he was serious! He wanted to make me the ultimate birthday card, which meant including a chinese star.

This is the front of the card using Bam Pop Stamps, which are 50% off at Torendi! The boys colored the images in with crayons

This is the inside! “You’re on point” is such an Army saying! It cracked me up to see the Bam Pop stamps and chinese star paired with this quote!

And, of course they signed the back

I love and crave handmade gifts. My boys always come together to make me something uniquely sweet…sigh*

Shabby isn’t my thing, but making this banner brought me so much joy!

Here are some detail shots:

I dyed my own bias tape (couldn’t find seam binding) with glimmer mist using Ashley’s tutorial that will be available after CHA!

I painted over the pieces with Distress Paint and then distressed the heart with distress ink!
