Happy {Belated} Thanksgiving!

After cooking and cleaning for several days straight, I AM BEAT! I bet you are too! Our Thanksgiving was a success with a couple blunders here and there, but who’s counting It was the first time we deep fried a turkey and our meat thermometer wasn’t calibrated correctly. It must have been all those hot 120 degree summers we left the thermometer on the patio…heehee. But, all in all the food ROCKED and the guests had a great time (or at least I think they did)!

Here are some pictures of my tablescape! I HAD to include some crafty goodness, so I made stamped and letterpressed menus, wine charms, and placecards!

This Thanksgiving, I really tried to decorate with things I already on hand, but added some mini pumpkins that I found on clearance at Safeway, a couple acorn squashes from our veggie box this past week, and some wheat (also on clearance at Safeway)! I think all the extra details helped make the guests feel special and welcomed.

We ate.

Some of us drank.

We laughed.

It was an awesome time! I also made a kids table and forgot to take pictures….lol. I was able to snap these pictures before our guests arrived. I also intended to take pictures of Chris deep-frying our turkey, the guests, and “the spread”, but was too caught up in the moment. Don’t you love it when that happens! Good Morning!!!

Today the design team is revisiting Cozy Christmas & Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum!

I decided to use Pa-Rum, Smitty’s ABCs, Teeny Tiny Backdrops, and Plus One to create a custom gift box with a matching card! I’ll be saving this set for Christmas 2012 for Lillianne (due Feb 2nd)! I used many of the stamps from Pa-Rum to create a custom stamped background on my card base and mixed the sentiment from Pa-Rum with some Smitty’s ABCs to make my very own sentiment. Because the stamps are Photopolymer Clear Stamps, they bend easily to make rounded sentiments!

TGIF! Today, I’m a guest designer for the Two Peas in a Bucket Stamping A to Z event! AND, it happens to be “L” Day!

Morning folks!

Remember my card for the Two Peas in a Bucket Stamping A to Z event? Well, I used Faber-Castell’s Design Memory Craft products 5 different ways! The pictures above illustrate the different ways.

1. I used the Faber-Castell Gelatos to stamp and added a light mist of water for a watercolor look.

2. For the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, I used a Stamper’s Big Brush Marker to add color to the raised design before debossing in my embossing machine. This is a Faux Letterpress technique!

3. You can also use the Stamper’s Big Brush Markers for stamping, as I did for my little purple butterfly. I used the Art Grip Colored Pencils to color the butterfly. LOVE THESE PENCILS! No gamsols needed

4. Here’s another shot of how I used the Stamper’s Big Brush Markers to stamp a clear photopolymer stamp. You can also do this on Rubber Stamps!

5. You can also create your own custom mists/paint splatters with the Gelatos and some water. I chose the two shades of green, colored some down on a stamping block, added some water, and then flicked the wash across the main image panel of my card!

There are so many FUN and EASY ways to use the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products and these are just some of them!
