Betzy's Baby Shower Invite

I was not interested in Papertrey Ink’s Baby Button Bits until I saw Betsy Veldman’s Bits of Buttons and Babies blog post! I completely CASEd the entire design, except I used shimmer cardstock as my pinked background, created a ribbon tag with the spring moss swiss dot satin ribbon, and used a vintage cream card base versus a kraft card base.

Dad and Child

Good Morning everyone! As most of you know, my Dad is also in the Army… This card is for him! Growing up, he was the stereotypical Army dad, encouraging me to play any and all sports, video taping my speeches so that I could learn and improve, making me do extra homework, waking up early to have our own practices, and basically just setting a higher standard for me to aspire to. Let me tell you…I HATED it at the time! But, because of his tireless efforts, I accomplished more than I could ever dream of as a kid! And, now that I’m a parent, I appreciate his efforts so much more This card is for my dad, a man that never settled for 2nd place, LOL!

2/11 HHT Christmas Party

My husband’s unit, 2/11 HHT, part of the 2/11 ACR here at Fort Irwin, had their Christmas Party last night! There were a few hiccups, but overall it was a huge success. We planned for 500 soldiers and family members, so we had plenty of drinks, paper supplies, games, and presents for the kids. We even had a DJ this year! However, not everyone brought a food item, like they were supposed to  In fact, I TOTALLY FORGOT to make a food item with all the chaos of the day! I even had everything set aside to make it! sigh* Megan did a wonderful job planning the party and I’m thankful for our end of the night clean-up crew!

*Carry-in does not work for large unit parties! Just an FYI

Other than the Christmas Party (which was huge…lol), there was a CARDS submission call deadline this week!

Also, this week I had 2 meetings for The Women’s Conference that I chair for, a MOPS Christmas Party, and two other meetings/classes I just didn’t make it to! Thank goodness this week is OVAH!
